Amentum is currently seeking a Electronic Engineer to support our customers' needs at Gillem Enclave Forest Park, GA and forward deployed forensic laboratories. The Electronic Engineer (EE) will perform exploitation and reverse-engineering on IED electronic circuits, develop device characterization, along with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Systems (UAVs). Identify, capture, analyze and characterize electronic devices and components from IED circuit boards for arming, firing and source characteristics.
Responsibilities
- Reverse engineering analysis to identify specific integrated components and electronics of unmanned systems (engines, navigational sensors, antennas, construction materials, signal conditioning and power units).
- Capture, characterize and identify IED electrical / electronic RF receiver and transmitter modules and circuit board characteristics, operating frequencies, and power.
- Specify component nomenclatures and research to identify resources and specifications; reverse engineer devices if required.
- Analyze recovered electronic components visually, including switching circuits and power sources. Develop accurate schematics of devices using CirCad.
- Analyze, demodulate, and decode signals to extract intelligence data using standard demodulation and decoding tools and techniques for commonly encountered signals.
- Utilize laboratory measuring equipment, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and related instrumentation to perform exploitation of devices and materials.
- Perform Electronic Data Recovery (EDR) of logical and physical data on mobile phones and other media storage devices using hardware / software tools (e.g., Cellebrite UFED, XRY, FTK). Analyze EDR files to recover data of investigative or intelligence value.
- Perform electronic data extraction and desoldering techniques of components; EEPROMs and microcontrollers using in-system programming (ISP).
