American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Urology / Nephrology Night Shift position requiring an active IL RN license and Cerner experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital on a 25-bed Med / Surg Urology / Nephrology unitNight shifts available as either 4x12 or 3x12 hours from 18 : 45 to 07 : 15Patient census averages 23 per shiftWill cover charge RN responsibilities as neededFloating required within Med / Surg units and potentially to affiliate hospitalsEvery other weekend coverage requiredNo on-call requirementUses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience requiredDuties include comprehensive Med / Surg care with responsibility for urology and nephrology patientsMay be required to work as charge RN based on unit needsWork within a Level I trauma and Magnet-designated hospital environmentSolid RN foundation required; first-time travelers must have a strong Med / Surg backgroundAll staff must wear any solid color scrubsMust work two out of three major holidays on assignmentNo radius restrictions for local candidates; both locals and travelers acceptedFormer permanent or PRN employees must be away for 12 months before being eligible to apply as a travelerStandard non-billable online modules to be completed virtually on first day; up to 16 hours non-billableParking permit provided at no cost\n \n Requirements\n
Active IL RN license required at time of applicationCurrent BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross requiredMinimum two years of Med / Surg or MS / Tele experience requiredExperience with telemetry, remote cardiac monitoring, and rapid response teams requiredGenitourinary and renal case management experience including pre / post hemodialysis and renal failure requiredSkills in blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and IV starts requiredExperience with heparin administration requiredExperience with chest tubes, CPAP / BiPAP, HFNC, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen management requiredProficiency with wound care, wound vacs, and isolation precautions requiredCerner EMR experience required\n Benefits\n
