Position Title : Shop / Production Manager

Company : Bear Creek Truss Inc

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000 per year + Performance Bonus

Industry : Roof & Floor Truss Manufacturing (Residential, Commercial)

Location : Tuscola, IL

Bear Creek Truss Inc is looking for a hands-on, proactive Shop / Production Manager to lead operations at our truss manufacturing facility. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for a motivated leader with production experience and a drive to build a long-term career. The ideal candidate will be capable of managing workflow, overseeing hiring decisions, and motivating a skilled workforce to meet production goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring efficient workflow across production lines.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage shop personnel to meet production goals and maintain quality standards.
  • Make proactive adjustments to production plans to ensure efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate staffing needs, including interviewing and hiring new team members as needed.
  • Collaborate with project management and leadership teams to align production with project timelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure materials and safety equipment are readily available.
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Operate forklifts and assist with material handling as needed.
  • Maintain detailed records of production, staffing, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or construction environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams in a shop or industrial setting.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with team members.
  • Strong decision-making skills with the ability to visualize workflow and make real-time adjustments.
  • Forklift experience required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be reliable, career-driven, and eager to grow with the company.
