As a nonprofit tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization operating since 2014, ELI opens new pathways of economic opportunity in partnership with local, state, and national organizations through the following strategies :

  • ADVOCATING FOR INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS, collaborations, and investments that turn community challenges into economic opportunities to promote economic security and social equity.

ABOUT THE POSITION

To help residents capitalize on the growing economic opportunities in Wimauma and the South Shore area, Enterprising Latinas, Inc. (ELI) supports its members in finding their path to economic prosperity by providing training, coaching, and technical assistance for entrepreneurship.

The Business Coach will be an integral part of the Economic Prosperity Team, supporting individuals who already have a business as well as aspiring entrepreneurs through the entire cycle of business development. The Business Coach will play a key role in advancing and expanding local small business development.

The ideal candidate must be self-directed, able to work in a team environment with diverse stakeholders, and fully bilingual (English / Spanish). This is a part-time (25 hours per week) position with the potential to become a permanent full-time position depending on performance and the availability of funding after the initial period.

A successful candidate will possess the required qualifications, have a passion for learning and helping others learn and develop their potential, understand the nature of unequal access to resources and opportunities at the local level, and be committed to contributing to a dynamic and vibrant organization dedicated to economic and social equity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coach new and established small and micro-business owners in English and Spanish to support successful startup, recovery, repositioning, or expansion.
  • Provide entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners with guidance throughout the start-up phase, including all aspects of business formation and compliance.
  • Assist entrepreneurs with business plan writing, development, and financial readiness.
  • Conduct periodic follow-ups with entrepreneurs and small business owners to assess progress and provide ongoing support.
  • Develop, coordinate, and promote marketing and market opportunities for micro-entrepreneurs.
  • Document, track, and monitor services and activities with business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
  • Collaborate with ELI staff to connect entrepreneurs with additional resources and support services.
  • Manage program data, documentation, and reporting related to outcomes, including accountability sessions with community members and reports to funders and partners.
  • Participate in outreach activities, community engagement events, and workshops to promote entrepreneurship opportunities.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Accelerator, Director of Prosperity Initiatives, COO, or CEO.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, education, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in small business development, coaching, or training / educational program delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of business planning, financial analysis, budgeting, and government resources.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) required, with ability to speak, read, and write effectively in both languages.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet project goals and deliverables.
  • Skilled facilitator with the ability to listen, empathize, motivate, and offer constructive feedback.
  • Knowledge of entrepreneurship ecosystems, resources, and opportunities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with members, staff, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual environment.
  • Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

    Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits will be available once the candidate transitions into a permanent position with the organization. Permanent ELI employees receive : Paid individual and family health care coverage; 120 hours of paid annual leave (80 hours of vacation plus 40 hours during the office closure between Christmas and New Year's Day); 56 hours of paid sick leave; Flexible scheduling to support work-life balance while meeting program deliverables; A collaborative and supportive work environment.

    START DATE

    We anticipate that this position will begin as soon as possible.
