Job Title : Analyzer Technician
Experience : 5-10 years in gas processing facilities with various degrees of additional experience
Location : Various client site locations / Multi-state positions
Schedule : Full-time
Classification : Non-Exempt; hourly, eligible for overtime
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for working on all types of field analyzers as well as working with Measurement Technicians. This position is located at various client sites supporting commissioning and startup.
Job Functions and Key Responsibilities
- Installation, maintenance and calibration of on-stream gas chromatographs
- Installation, maintenance and calibration of various utility analyzers including conductivity, PH, moisture, 02, BTU and CO
- Maintain and calibrate MSA CGI monitors and other related safety equipment for the facility
- Recognize malfunctions in individual equipment and perform maintenance as necessary to correct problems
- Interface with SCADA, DCS, and analyzer host systems
- Interpersonal skills required to interface with customers and team members
- Monitor process variables and conditions to ascertain the current state of the operated process
- Monitor and recognize dangerous and / or emergency conditions within the process and perform procedures necessary to remove the condition or shutdown the process in order to protect personnel, community, environment and equipment
- Operate and perform activities in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures
- Utilize proper Lockout / Tag out operating and safety procedures
- Must be proficient in the use of PCs and PC software
- Must be a self-starter and be able to prioritize work based on business needs
- Installation, maintenance and calibration of VOC & HRVOC analyzers
- Installation, maintenance and calibration of CEMS analyzers
Minimum Essential Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalentMust have a valid driver's licenseStable work historyMust be legally eligible to work in the US. Sponsorship is not availableMust be able to pass a drug and alcohol screeningMust be able to comply with customer site requirements for access / entryInterpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams, personnel, and vendors; able to work in a self-directed work teamMust become proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, ExcelMust work with a minimum of supervision and be able to manage their time when given multiple tasksWilling to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectivesRegular and reliable attendance requiredPreferred Qualifications
Minimum of 5-10 years’ work experience in a gas processing facilityTwo years working with Chemical / Petroleum measurementBe a self-starter, and ability to work with peers in collaborative effortsExperience with a computer-based management system (SAP, Maximo)Experience with Lock-Out / Tag-Out proceduresExperience in work permit processes and proceduresBe able to diagnose, repair, and calibrate analyzersExperience working in collaborative efforts, be a highly motivated self-starterAbility to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and able to respond to call outsTwo-year associates degree in instrumentation, measurement, analyzers or equivalent trainingFive years’ experience in the Chemical / Petroleum IndustryTwo years working with Chemical / Petroleum measurementExperience with analyzer instrument installations and calibrationsAbility to diagnose, repair, and calibrate on line analyzersRegular and reliable attendance required.Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, push, and pull 50 pounds.Ability to work in changing climate conditions and a plant environment.Able to work in close quarters : i.e., work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.Follow and adhere to all applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines (e.g., eye protection, footwear, FRC)The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and armsBenefits
