The UT System Administration is primarily based in Austin, Texas. Purpose of Position
In the Office of General Counsel, or OGC, our clients include the 14 institutions within the UT System, plus UT System's central administrative office, known as System Administration. OGC assists our clients in solving problems that affect their diverse educational, health, research, and business missions. Formally, we are a full-service legal department composed of 32 attorneys in three practice groups : Business Law, General Law, and Health Law. The Business Law section is comprised of lawyers with specialties in tax, construction, contracting, procurement, technology, real estate, corporate, gifts and estates, and intellectual property.
The selected candidate will report to the Assistant Vice Chancellor & Managing Counsel for Business Law and provide legal advice, counsel, and representation on real estate matters. The attorney's work will primarily focus on real estate matters but may range into other areas critical to the business operations of The University of Texas System institutions.
Though experienced in real estate, the ideal candidate will be eager and willing to collaborate and problem solve with clients and legal colleagues in a variety of contexts.
