Pay Rate : $45–$50+ per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our educational team. This role is ideal for an educator who thrives in a supportive, mission-driven environment and is committed to helping students with special needs reach their full potential.

The Special Education Teacher will design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), provide direct instruction in a variety of settings, and collaborate closely with families and school staff to support both academic and social-emotional growth.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)

Provide instruction in whole-class, small-group, and one-on-one settings

Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed

Collaborate with families and school staff to ensure student success

Implement behavior management strategies and supports

Supervise and mentor classroom assistants and aides

Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment

Participate in team meetings, intakes, and placement planning as needed

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Master’s preferred)

New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education (required)

Experience teaching students with special needs (Early Childhood–Elementary preferred)

Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Compassion, patience, and a commitment to student growth

Location : New York, NY

Schedule : Full-time, Monday–Friday
