Title of Position

Health Educator Consultant (HEC)

Health Educator Consultant is responsible for the completion and maintenance of Florida's Healthy Communities Workplan, coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure the work plan is implemented and reports are completed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure strategies from Florida's Healthy Communities Workplan are met by coordinating with internal and external partners.
• Work with partners to ensure workplan strategies are completed, implemented, and all reports are submitted on time.
• Coordinate health awareness activities, specifically Diabetes Awareness Month.
• Attend, coordinate, and lead community meetings and workshops that relate to meeting the needs of the Healthy Communities Workplan.
• Coordinate program activities with the Chronic Disease staff and other health department staff as needed.
• Promote the Health Department programs and refer community members as appropriate to other community resources offered locally.
• Develop and maintain marketing flyers, brochures, etc. on educational content and health messaging.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications

At least 1 year experience building and maintaining partnerships in the community.

Lifestyle Coach with National Diabetes Prevention Program.
