POSITION DESCRIPTION :

Think Tank is a woman-owned small business with more than 27 years of proven success delivering exceptional marine and fisheries services to the federal government. We are currently seeking an ideal candidate for the position of Small Boat Operations Coordinator to support an upcoming proposal with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The Small Boat Vessel Operations Coordinator will be responsible for the operational readiness, maintenance, and compliance of NEFSC's small boat fleet. This role supports the Protected Species Division's field missions by ensuring boats meet NOAA's operational and safety standards, and by serving as the primary point of contact for vessel use and oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Coordinate small boat operations, compliance, and maintenance in accordance with the NOAA Small Boat Standards and Procedures Manual.
  • Conduct annual inspections of vessels and trailers; maintain inspection records and user manuals.
  • Occasionally serve as Operator-in-Charge (OIC) on small boat missions.
  • Oversee vessel trailering, deployment, de-staging, and minor engine repairs.
  • Support small boat contracting efforts, including tracking administrative and technical requirements.
  • Represent PSD in NOAA Small Boat Program communications.
  • Assist with field research operations as needed.

    • REQUIREMENTS :

  • USCG license or equivalent NOAA Small Boat Certification.
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Familiarity with small boat trailering, maintenance, and minor engine repair.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capability to travel and work in varying field conditions.
