JOB TITLE : QA Lab Technician
REPORTS TO : QA Manager

JOB SUMMARY : The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of all food and beverage products with internal standards and external regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA, SQF, HACCP, GMP). This role conducts routine inspections, testing, and documentation throughout the production process to maintain consistent product integrity and support continuous improvement initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- A bachelor's or associate's degree in science is preferred
- Prior experience in a laboratory setting is a plus
- 1-3 years of experience in food and beverage manufacturing or a similar QA / QC environment
- Ability to make mathematical computations
- Ability to work off shift and weekends as needed

Knowledge of laboratory tests and analyses is a plus. Ability to handle samples and laboratory equipment.Strong attention to detail. Create, distribute, and maintain Certificates of AnalysisCreate internal specification sheetsCoordinate required testing with third-party lab, including creating and distributing transmittal testing formsEnsures proper storage, organization, and disposal of retention samples.File laboratory paperwork and understand multiple filing systemsCrosstrain in preparing and performing sensory (organoleptic) evaluationsCrosstrain in performing chemical and physical analyses on various samples, including raw material, intermediate, and finished products. Tests include but are not limited to visual inspections, specific gravity, refractive index, flashpoint, brix, pH, moisture, etc.Enter and look up information in different system databases (Great Plains / Business Central)Report out-of-specification results in a timely manner to responsible individuals and departments.Crosstrain in any applicable laboratory instrument calibration activities.Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, and other food safety and quality protocolsAssist with general lab upkeep; Keep work areas clean and organizedAny other reasonable duty assigned by management
