Summary

Duties and Responsibilities
Perform field surveys for the design of electrical systems, gather information, and prepare site assessment reports
Prepare electrical schematic designsDesign EngineeringDesign power single line and riser diagrams
Perform electrical calculations (arc flash, coordination, short circuit, voltage drop, load flow) using ETAP / SKMLighting fixtures and power equipment selectionPerform lighting and power circuitingDesign and coordinate the lighting control systemPrepare fire alarm device layout based on the International Fire Code and NFPA 72Design fire alarm riser diagrams, calculations, and sequence of operationsPrepare enlarged plans, elevations, schedules, and detailsUnderstand and utilize CAD / BIM standardsHave a working knowledge of California Electrical Code and Energy Standards to design medium voltage and low voltage electrical systemsCoordination among different disciplines, such as mechanical, plumbing, telecom, civil, structural, and architectural. Work in close contact with the entire design teamEdit specifications for projectsProject ManagementDemonstrate ability to manage multiple large-size projects involving other senior engineers and sub-consultants
Provide mentorship to design engineersPrepare proposals independently for clientsDemonstrate active development of business with new and existing clientsConstruction AdministrationReview and respond to RFI’s
Review equipment submittalsPerform punch walks and prepare punch list reportQualifications & Requirements
Degree : Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer License requiredMinimum 10 years experience preferredAbility to manage projects, PM experience preferredAble to lead electrical design projects and a team of design engineersDemonstrate project management skills.Experience using AutoCAD, ETAP / SKM, and Revit requiredFamiliar with HCAI requirementsBe self-motivated, inquisitive, detail-oriented, adept at looking at underlying issues, and willing to work in a fast-paced environmentPossess strong record-keeping and organizational skillsBenefits
