Key Requirements
Physical Demands
Work requires strenuous physical exertion such as climbing tall ladders or towers, long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities; and recurring lifting heavy objects in excess of 50 pounds such as radio and related communications systems.
Work Environment
Work involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations such as electrical shocks, falls from high towers, inclement weather conditions (rain, snow, ice, and high winds), requiring a range of safety and other precautions, including accompaniment by another technician when performing duties considered hazardous to life and limb.

Specialized Experience (SE)
GS 07 : Applicants must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS 05 grade level. SE is defined as follows :

Education
Education may be substituted for SE as follows :
Degrees must be in one of the following fields : Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electronics Technology, Telecommunications, or Computer Science.
GS 07 : Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or one (1) full year of graduate level education. Superior academic achievement is the completion of all the requirements of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average of 3.0 or higher as recorded on an official transcript, or as based on courses completed during the final two years of the curriculum, or (3) honor society membership.
GS 09 : Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
