Preconstruction Manager - Structured Cabling

Position Summary

Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure a company or organization complies with internal regulations and standardized processes.
• Manage a team of Preconstruction specialists, including Pre-Con Engineers and CAD / BIM modelers.
• Lead all preconstruction activities including project planning, budgeting, WBS creation, BOM & Spec validations, scheduling, and risk assessment.
• Develop accurate conceptual and final estimates through collaboration with Estimating team; provide cost-saving alternatives and thorough risk analyses.
• Manage the bid process, including subcontractor solicitation, vendor negotiations, and scope definition.
• Manage documentation and handoff to Production teams.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams to establish project scope and execution strategies.
• Ensure full compliance with E2 Optics' preconstruction processes, including rigorous use of the Project Execution Checklist.
• Present preconstruction deliverables and recommendations to GC's, clients, internal leadership, Operations staff and project management.
• Supervise and mentor preconstruction staff, promoting quality, consistency, and professional growth.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts as needed.
• Continuously improve preconstruction practices to drive operational efficiency and excellence.
• Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so.
• Travel : The individual in this role should be able and willing to travel as required by E2 Optics.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on an intermittent to regular basis daily. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet, may be required to work in tight, confined spaces. The employee must demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
