Position Overview
The Sr. Project Engineer supports project planning, coordination, and execution, with a primary focus on team collaboration and document control. Responsibilities include managing drawings, RFIs, submittals, contracts, changes, billings, permits, and utilities while ensuring quality standards are exceeded at project turnover.
Key Responsibilities
1.Document Control :
Prepare and manage questions and clarifications between subcontractors and stakeholders through RFIs.Create and own submittal and procurement schedule to ensure approval of materials, products, and equipment before installation.Track and formalize modifications to scope, budget, or schedule through owner or subcontractor change orders.Manages and distributes project drawings and specifications including any updates to ensure the latest revisions are used and accessible.2.Project Meetings :
Set up, attend and participate in project meetings.Document meeting minutes and follow up on action items.Utilize internal and OAC meetings to drive progress and obtain necessary information.Ensure accurate and timely documentation and communication with all teams on the project of changes.3. Permits and Utilities :
Research and identify required permits to determine necessary building, environmental, and specialty permits for the project.Assist in permit and utility (temp or permanent) applications and monitoring the progress of applications.Work with utility providers (power, water, sewer, gas, telecommunications) to assist coordination in new service connections or modifications.4.Quality Assurance :
Ensure quality inspections (municipal, third-party, internal) are scheduled, completed and passed.Facilitate pre-punch inspection to ensure internal pre-punch is completed before the owner walkthrough and assist in owner punch as needed.Produce as-built drawings to reflect all field changes for final turnover / closeout package.Ensure all quality requirements, including testing and commissioning, are met before turnover.5.Project and Contract Administration :
Initial project set up and document management across software platforms.Preparation and processing of project billings, collaborating with accounting department and project team to ensure accuracy and timeliness.Assist in the administration and processing of project contracts and change orders.Provide support to Project Manager as it relates to initial project budget creation.Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience.3+ years of PE experience in commercial constructionStrong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project).Ability to support multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.Excellent problem-solving abilities and a results-driven mindset.Why Join Us?
