You can make a positive impact in the community on day 1! The Mobile Response Team Float – Team Lead Support plays a critical role in delivering rapid, community-based crisis intervention services.
This position provides flexible, on-call support across multiple locations and teams, stepping in as needed to ensure consistent service delivery and team stability.
In addition to responding directly to mental health or behavioral crises, the Float serves as an acting team lead—providing on-site guidance, peer support, and assisting supervisors in ensuring team readiness, quality of care, and adherence to protocol.
Community Engagement
- Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to promote mental health services.
- Conduct presentations and workshops to educate the community about mental health issues, available services, and resources. Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to behavioral health crisis calls across multiple sites or jurisdictions.
- Travel to assigned locations as needed, sometimes on short notice, based on staffing needs and crisis response volume.
- Provide clinical and logistical leadership during mobile response deployments, supporting field staff and acting as a point person when supervisors are unavailable.
- Assist in onboarding and mentoring new team members or trainees at various locations.
- Ensure adherence to protocols, safety procedures, and documentation standards in the field.
- Coordinate with supervisors and dispatch to maintain optimal coverage and effective response times.
- Participate in daily briefings, debriefings, and team check-ins across locations.
- Foster positive relationships with community partners, law enforcement, hospitals, and other emergency responders in diverse areas.
- Provide feedback to supervisors regarding field operations, staff performance, and client service needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or program leadership. Data Collection and Reporting
- Collect and analyze data on locations as needed for monthly reporting
- Prepare reports for management regarding chart documentation, and suggestions for program improvements.
- Support data collection and reporting requirements by ensuring field documentation is completed accurately and timely. SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and ability to interpret the Baker Act, Marchman Act, confidentiality and abuse reporting, and client rights requirements
- Knowledge and ability to interpret program and Center policies and procedures
- Must have leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to plan, organize and direct staff activities
- Must be resourceful
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Advanced crisis counseling and intervention skills
- Advanced counseling and assessments skills
- Ability to write assessments in a clear and concise format
- Ability to write / compose correspondence, policies, etc.
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with staff, clients and families
- Ability to work as a team lead
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, and culturally responsive services.
- Must be able to work independently and make quick, informed decisions in high-pressure situations. WORKING CONDITIONS
- Travel required in and around Palm Beach County.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Sciences, Social Work or related fieldMinimum of 2 years of experience in crisis intervention, preferably in a mental health or healthcare setting.Experience working with marginalized or underserved communitiesProven leadership experience or aptitude; prior supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
