  • Location : Mechanicsville, VA 23116 (Richmond metropolitan area)\n
  • Assignment Type : Travel Nursing – Labor & Delivery\n
  • Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D), 10-bed LDR unit with 2 triage and 2 OR rooms\n
  • Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00pm – 7 : 00am)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 17 / 2026)\n
  • Weekend / Holiday : Every other weekend and every other holiday required\n
  • On-Call : Not required\n
  • Interview : No interview required\n
  • Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,990 – $2,130\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required for Virginia nursing jobs)\n
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience\n
  • Travel nursing experience preferred\n
  • Ability to assist and / or scrub in the OR for deliveries\n
  • Fetal monitoring experience required\n
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications required (may obtain prior to start)\n
  • Experience caring for high acuity patients, including those with language barriers, substance abuse, and chronic conditions affecting pregnancy\n
  • No local candidates (must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Mechanicsville, VA)\n

    • \n\nL&D RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver comprehensive, family-centered care to mothers and newborns in a busy Labor & Delivery unit\n
  • Assist and scrub in the OR for deliveries\n
  • Perform and interpret fetal monitoring; conduct vaginal exams\n
  • Provide patient education, breastfeeding support, and discharge planning\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal maternal and neonatal outcomes\n
  • Float to Mother / Baby unit as needed\n
  • Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards\n
  • Respond effectively in emergencies, including resuscitation and stabilization of mother / fetal dyad\n
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and compassion in all patient interactions\n
