Summary :
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in supporting patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or licensed Nurse. This position involves a variety of patient-focused tasks, clerical duties, and essential organizational activities to ensure a positive and safe healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Exhibit competencies in leadership, whether self-directed or as part of a team.
- Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
- Complete necessary documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare patient rooms for new admissions, including setting up IV pots and adjusting beds.
- Ensure patient belongings are securely transported during discharge to their new unit or home.
- Safely and respectfully transport stable patients as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and security while interacting with patients, families, and visitors.
- Care for equipment and supplies : cleaning, procuring, and returning them as needed.
- Run errands for the nursing unit as necessary.
- Support licensed personnel in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for all patients.
- Perform unit-specific patient care tasks as per the skills checklist and accurately document on the flowsheet.
- Observe and report any notable changes in a patient's condition to the nurse in charge.
- Assist with maintaining stock inventory and reorder items when necessary.
- Keep unit supplies organized and accessible.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations.
- Communicate clearly with team members during and between shifts to ensure seamless patient care.
- Respond to phone calls and patient call lights promptly and professionally.
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to meet unique patient needs, including physical, psychosocial, cultural, and developmental considerations.
- Demonstrate the ability to meet the diverse needs of the patient population served.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred.Experience
1 year of relevant experience required; 3-5 years preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
CNA License in the state of employment is required.BLS certification is required.Work Schedule : 7AM - 7PM
