Description

The PACU Registered Nurse provides safe, high-quality post-anesthesia care based on nursing theory, evidence-based practice, and Mount Sinai's Relationship Centered Care model. The nurse is responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, critical thinking in care delivery, and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure quality outcomes and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Provide patient-centered, evidence-based post-operative care.

Manage medicated drips and monitor hemodynamic stability.

Educate patients and families on recovery and discharge instructions.

Document accurately in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective care transitions.

Support continuous quality improvement and safety initiatives.

Perform charge nurse duties as assigned and ensure efficient patient throughput.

Skills & Experience

Required :

Active NYS RN License

BLS and ACLS (AHA)

Minimum 2 years of PACU / post-op management experience

Experience with medicated drips

EPIC EMR experience (preferred)

Preferred :

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

2 years of recent acute care experience

Beds : 6

Staffing Ratio : 1 : 1–2

Schedule : 4x10 or 5x8 shifts with on-call required
