Parks & Recreation Maintenance Worker

Leon County Government offers a competitive salary range from $33,092.80 to $54,620.80 annually. The position is based in Tallahassee, FL at Parks & Recreation - 1907 South Monroe St.

The purpose of this position is to assist Parks & Recreation in providing citizens access to quality parks and recreation programs and facilities through maintenance of athletic facilities, parks, green spaces, and boat ramps. Essential duties include equipment maintenance, park maintenance, special projects, and customer service. The work environment is outdoors, with exposure to inclement weather, dirt, odors, insects, and animals. Physical demands include standing, walking, lifting over 50 pounds, climbing, and crawling. Knowledge of parks maintenance, carpentry, masonry, and customer service skills are required. The minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and six months of related work experience. Necessary special requirements include obtaining a Limited Chemical Application License within six months of employment. The position is non-exempt and involves formal application, education and experience rating, oral interview, reference check, and drug testing.
