About the  Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physician Position

The Dell Medical School in conjunction with Dell Childrens Medical Center of Central Texas (DCMCCT) , is seeking Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Physicians to be part of the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease . This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a leading institution dedicated to innovating healthcare delivery, advancing research, and educating the next generation of medical professionals.

What You'll Do :

  • Work collaboratively with a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team to serve the growing needs of the regional pediatric population in Central Texas.
  • Care for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease, in addition to heart failure / transplant / mechanical circulatory support patients.
  • Participate in coordinated transport / intake efforts to a dedicated, 36 bed Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.
  • Engage in educational activities with medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Collaborate with medical and adjunct specialties to allow for the pursuit of innovative program development and clinical research initiatives.

Qualifications :

  • Meets applicable credentialing and privileging standards for his / her specialty.
  • Board certification or board eligible within two (2) years of completion of training.
  • Has additional training in pediatric cardiac critical care (not required if dual boarded).
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas (or the ability to obtain prior to appointment).
  • Demonstrated leadership, clinical teaching ability, and communication skills.
  • Must possess tenacity, self-motivation and initiative necessary to drive the development and maintenance of established and new programs.
  • A track record of being able to lead, direct, and influence a team (regardless of reporting lines).
  • Demonstrates behaviors of a team player.
  • Eligible for appointment as an assistant professor or higher in the Department of Pediatrics.
