Job Description
Austell Gas System is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Gas Pipeline Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines and related infrastructure, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of natural gas to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Installation & Maintenance : Install and maintain gas pipelines, meters, and related equipment in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
Leak Detection & Repair : Conduct regular inspections to identify potential gas leaks and perform necessary repairs to maintain system integrity.
Emergency Response : Respond promptly to gas emergencies, including leaks and service interruptions, ensuring minimal disruption to customers and compliance with safety protocols.
System Monitoring : Utilize specialized equipment to monitor gas pressure and flow, making adjustments as needed to maintain optimal system performance.
Documentation & Reporting : Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairs performed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaboration : Work closely with other team members and departments to coordinate projects and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the gas distribution system.
Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in gas pipeline systems or a related field is preferred.
Experience : Previous experience in gas pipeline installation, maintenance, or a related field is advantageous.
Certifications : Valid driver’s license; additional certifications related to gas systems are a plus.
Skills : Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in various environmental conditions.
