  • Job Summary : \n\nThe Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by : \n\n+ Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status\n\n+ Acting as the service line between Med-Surg and ICU units\n\n+ Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs\n\n+ Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes\n\n+ Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment\n
  • Essential Functions : \n\n+ Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team\n\n+ Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness\n\n+ Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments\n\n+ Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department\n\n+ Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures\n\n+ Other duties as assigned\n
  • Education : \n\n+ Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)\n
  • Certifications : \n\n+ Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)\n\n+ BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)\n
  • Experience : \n\n+ 1 year of RN experience (required)\n\n+ 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)\n\nAs a Bon Secours Mercy Health associate, you're part of a Mission that matters.
