Our client is a dynamic, well-established architecture firm based on Long Island, specializing in K-12 educational facilities, municipal buildings, and commercial projects. The firm continues to grow and evolve, as they are transitioning from AutoCAD to Revit as the primary design and documentation platform. We’re seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking BIM Manager to lead this transition and support their team in fully embracing Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows.
Position Summary
The BIM Manager will lead the implementation, training, and management of BIM technologies, with a particular focus on transitioning the office from AutoCAD to Revit. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, team leadership, and architectural knowledge to support project teams through the software migration and beyond. The ideal candidate will act as the in-house Revit expert, developing standards, workflows, and best practices while serving as a mentor and technical resource for staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firm-wide transition from AutoCAD to Revit, including setting goals, timelines, and benchmarks.
- Develop and maintain BIM standards, templates, and content libraries tailored to K-12, municipal, and commercial project types.
- Provide training, onboarding, and continuous support for staff at varying levels of BIM experience.
- Troubleshoot Revit-related issues and provide real-time support to project teams.
- Collaborate with architects, project managers, and consultants to ensure seamless integration of BIM into all project phases.
- Oversee BIM execution plans and coordinate digital models across disciplines.
- Evaluate and implement BIM tools, plugins, and workflows to improve project efficiency and quality.
- Maintain documentation on workflows, updates, and best practices.
- Liaise with external consultants to ensure BIM coordination across trades.
- Stay current on BIM technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in architecture or related field, with at least 3 years of hands-on Revit experience.Proven experience implementing or managing BIM / Revit workflows in an architectural setting.Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360) preferred.Experience working on K-12, municipal, or commercial architecture projects a plus.Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.Ability to teach, support, and inspire team members at all experience levels.
