Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Shop Manager located in Lannon, WI. The Shop Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing inventory, coordinating with staff, and ensuring a high level of truck & equipment performance for our field staff. Tasks will include managing schedules, handling maintenance schedules & repairs, optimizing shop & yard layout & organization, and ensuring operational efficiency. We are looking for an individual with strong attention to detail who works well independently or collaboratively to manage repairs & maintenance on our equipment & meet overall company & project goals.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills
- Experience in Operations Management and Repair & Maintenance Management
- Proficient in Microsoft office or google business suite
- Demonstrate a wide range of technical abilities to diagnose, repair & maintain heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, loaders, track & wheel skid loaders, etc.
- Understand electrical / hydraulic systems and schematics
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in a specialized repair environment
- Leadership and team management abilities
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Have some welding or fabrication experience.
- Have the ability to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- Familiarity with waste management and recycling processes is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in Associate's degree (AA) in a technical field or comparable work experience; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Be able to walk on uneven surfaces, stoop, bend, & climb stairs, lift 50ibs without restrictions
Responsibilities include :
Oversee repairs & maintenance on hydraulic excavators including Liebherr, John Deer, & Hitachi excavators & attachments, front end loaders, skid loaders, smaller equipment & Trucks.Manages and control parts inventory level, ensuring an adequate inventory and order parts & equipment as neededTrack shop expenses & ensure compliance with shop budgetMaintain & build a positive work environment by promoting teamwork and effective communication among crew members.Interviews and assists in hires for shop personnelAssist in diagnostics and some repairs on heavy equipment, including excavators, cranes, and forklifts, ensuring optimal functionality.Oversee mechanics who conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery, & heavy trucks focusing on hydraulics, transmissions, and air brakes.Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed, & ensure all shop personell are adhering to safety protocols throughout all operations.
