Position Overview :

This posting applies to Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine Physicians (General Medical Officers). Youll report to the Program Manager and be supervised by the designated Site Medical Director.

Location : Baghdad, Iraq

Eligible Specialties Include :

Emergency Medicine - Broad primary care interest with experience across GYN, dermatology, ENT, cardiology, psych, ortho, and more.

Family Medicine - Wide-ranging primary and emergency care interest, including surgical and trauma settings.

Internal Medicine - Comprehensive care including emergency and subspecialty-focused experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver care in clinics, trauma hospitals, or field units.
  • Diagnose, treat, refer, and manage patient recovery and care coordination.
  • Coordinate medevac or local hospital admission when necessary.
  • In some locations, serve as Site Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer.
  • Adhere to U.S. standards of care and uphold patient dignity and ethical practices.
  • Document care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Certifications

Required :

  • Current board certification (ABFM, ABEM, ABIM)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed U.S. attending physician
  • Recent (within 6 months) clinical experience in direct patient careU.S. state medical license (unrestricted)
  • Valid U.S. passport
  • Current certifications : ACLS, ATLS, BLS, DEA license
  • Preferred :

  • TCCC or similar trauma certification with advanced simulation / live tissue training
  • Additional Requirements

  • U.S. Drivers License and passport with 6+ months validity
  • Favorable background check & drug screening
  • Completion of Counter-Terrorism training (pre-deployment)
  • Proficiency in English and basic medical software
  • Willingness and ability to travel across Iraq as needed
  • Physical Requirements

  • Fit for duty per Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines
  • Capable of lifting / carrying 70 lbs. in protective gear in emergency scenarios
  • Able to work in typical office / medical environments with potential travel
