Position : Research Analyst :

HCE seeks a data-fluent Research Analyst to join our collaborative team of analyst-consultants. You'll work closely with institutional partners, leveraging data to drive decision-making and deliver high-impact consulting services.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Acquire, clean, and manage large, complex datasets from institutional partners and other sources.
  • Perform advanced descriptive and predictive analytics to uncover actionable insights.
  • Design compelling data visualizations and dashboards for client presentations.
  • Automate reporting and analytics workflows using Excel, VBA, SPSS, or similar tools.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, consultative recommendations for higher education leaders.
  • Present results and strategic guidance to clients and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with tight deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative analysis and data interpretation.
  • Strong proficiency with statistical software (SPSS, SAS, R, or Python) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience in data visualization, dashboard creation, and storytelling with data.
  • Ability to automate data processes and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills for translating technical findings into actionable business insights.
  • Consulting mindset : proactive, inquisitive, and client-focused.
  • Experience in higher education research or administration is a plus.
  • Familiarity with geospatial analysis, business intelligence platforms, or emerging analytics technologies is advantageous.
  • Education :

  • Preferred : Master's degree (or higher) in statistics, social sciences, economics, applied mathematics, public policy, or related quantitative fields.
  • Bachelor's degree candidates should have 2-3 years of professional experience in a data-driven role.
  • Compensation & Benefits :

    Salary Range : $75,000-85,000

    Benefits include unlimited PTO, health / dental / vision / life insurance, retirement plan with employer contribution, and flexible spending accounts.
