Assistant Designer - Apparel

Supports the Designer & Director and assists in implementing and creating technical packages as well as color line sheets.

This role is hybrid and requires being in the office 3 days a week.

WHAT YOU'LL DO :

Assists design team in creating the product collections at the beginning of each season.

Prepares development creative packages under direction of the senior designer and / or designer.

Assists in managing multiple seasons at different stages of development, while understanding the development calendar and ensuring teams are adhering to the T&A.

Prepares for seasonal product review meetings.

Shops monthly to compile market research to gain understanding of brand and stays abreast of trends both directional and at a retail level, including, but not limited to brick & mortar and online research.

Communicates with cross functional partners daily.

Partners with Designer in reviewing and approving design, lab dips, trims, and fabrics details, etc.

May Prepare for seasonal product review meetings.

May attend development fit sessions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED :

Minimum of 1 year of design experience including technical knowledge.

High School Diploma required, Associate or Bachelor Degree in design or equivalent experience preferred.

Strong computer skills including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Technical knowledge of fabric construction finishes and techniques.

Strong knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color, sewing techniques, graphics, and trim.

Solid design and conceptual skills.

Timely sense of trends and market direction encompassing color, fabric, and silhouette.

Flexibility to deadline demands and seasonal schedules.

Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customer requests promptly and thoroughly.

Strong communication skills including ability to work independently and in a team environment, give honest, direct feedback and is a solid verbal and written communicator.

Meet deadlines, prioritize appropriately, cope well with change, and maintain composure under pressure.

Must be organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Hourly Rate : $21.51-$26.31 / hr.
