Scaling Community Violence Intervention (CVI) for a Safer Chicago (SC2) is an expanding network of donors, anti-violence practitioners, and community stakeholders dedicated to enhancing CVI in the neighborhoods of Chicago most affected by violence. New Life Centers is partnering with six local community-based organizations; Central States SER, Enlace, Hope Culture, Erie House, Universidad Popular, and Beyond the Ball as The Pathways to Peace. The Pathways to Peace program aim to serve 75% of the highest-risk individuals in the area over five years through comprehensive street outreach, case management, education, employment, and behavioral health services.

Position Summary

The Data & Technology Specialist position is full-time, 40 hours per week (exempt, benefits available) and may take place at our Little Village or Humboldt Park locations. The Data Manager is responsible for performing key data management tasks to coordinate collection of accurate data, strategically communicate input and outputs through reports and narratives, analyze NLC data to improve the quality of service provided to youth, and oversee the NLC data team. May require some local travel (reimbursable). Pay commensurate with experience. This position is in-person.

Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for the accurate entry, collection and reporting of data.
• Manages accuracy of data entry, oversight, and timely reporting through.
• Implements data collection processes and reporting to ensure necessary measurement and reporting tools are in place for grant compliance.
• Adheres to stipend guidelines and submits required paperwork on time.
• Follows data tracking requirements and meets documentation deadlines.
• Submits all finance information by established deadlines.
• Attends all trainings and orientations with partners and funders
• Communicates project information with staff and participants
• Responds promptly to requests from the Program Director, Program Coordinator, and Fianance Manager.
• Assess the current data tracking processes and systems used for data collection and data entry to identify ways to improve and implement solutions that meet the needs of the program.
• Oversees the coordination of implementation of quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments and materials with the Director of Data and Program Evaluation.
• Ensures secure storage of gathered data and confidentiality of participants.
• Delegates tasks as necessary.
• Assures all necessary information is communicated accurately and up to date between NLC staff, partners and funders.
• Analyze and interpret data to develop and provide accurate outcome reports as requested.
• Coordinates data system training and refresher trainings for staff, interns, and volunteers as necessary.
• Assists in creating data visualizations using a variety of data programs (Excel, R, Python, etc.).
• Assures the maintenance of up-to-date rosters and complete files; communicates updates with directors as needed.
• Communicates regularly with Supervisor about data needs, challenges, etc.
• Assists in identifying and implementing best practices of data metrics, collection, and analysis.
• Conducts regular system audits to ensure internal data tracking system is accurate, reliable, and reflective of the work the NLC team provides.
• Collaborate with the Director of Data and Evaluation, the Data Team and program staff to conduct program evaluation.
• Leads in implementation and monitoring of progress of data collection methods.
• Assist in the creation of dashboards in our data system(s) to ensure that NLC staff at all levels of the organization can have access to the data needed.
• Provides regular follow up with data staff to meet goals and maintain team wellness.
• Supervision includes on-site visits, regular check-ins, and break-out planning meetings.
• Assures documentation of all participant contacts and services provided.
• Participates in required evaluations.
• Demonstrates New Life Centers’ values.
• Attends required meetings and training.
• Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
