Schedule : Full-time, Monday – Thursday, 6 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM, or Tuesday – Friday, 6 : 00 AM – 4 : 30 PM
Position Overview
Madison Wood Preservers, Inc. is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate machinery used in the transportation and handling of lumber within our facility. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are committed to safety, efficiency, and teamwork. While experience is strongly preferred, we provide training to ensure proper equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment to transport lumber and load / unload trucks and trailers.
- Conduct pre-operational inspections and report maintenance needs.
- Safely handle, stack, and store materials to prevent damage.
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
- Assist with inventory management and material staging.
- Work with team members to meet production goals.
- Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing safety and equipment training.
Requirements
Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently.Attention to detail and safety-minded.Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week).Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.Ability to operate power tools as needed.Ability to stand on hard surfaces for extended periods of time.Ability to navigate stairs and inclines.Ability to lift 50 lbs. with and without assistance.Ability to work around loud noises for extended periods.Ability to perform manual labor in a fast-paced production environment.Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years of recent forklift or heavy equipment operation experience.Stable work history with a record of reliability and attendance.Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team setting.Compensation & Benefits
