Our client is currently seeking a Payables Manager with a strong background in Agriculture and vendor management. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in accounts payable, including a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role and must have held the Payables Manager title for at least 3 years.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the AP team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of high-volume invoices across multiple entities.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with a wide range of agricultural vendors.
Oversee AP operations including invoice coding, matching, approvals, and payment processing.
Develop and enforce internal controls and best practices to optimize AP workflows.
Collaborate with procurement, finance, and operations teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
Prepare and present AP metrics, aging reports, and cash flow forecasts to senior leadership.
Support audits and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (must have)
Minimum 8 years of AP experience, with at least 3 years as a Payables Manager.
Strong background in agriculture or agribusiness (required).
Proven ability to manage complex vendor portfolios and multi-entity AP structures.
Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with seasonal vendor cycles and agricultural supply chains.
Familiarity with AP automation tools and process improvement initiatives.
