Title : Cold Storage Unit Manager (HVAC Specialist)

Key Responsibilities :
Operational Management :
- Oversee day-to-day operations of all hospital cold storage systems.
- Ensure continuous monitoring and temperature stability for sensitive medical and biological materials.
- Manage preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all refrigeration and HVAC units.
- Maintain accurate logs, calibration records, and maintenance documentation for audit readiness.
Technical and Maintenance Duties :
Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, and evaporators.Calibrate and validate temperature sensors, alarms, and data loggers.Implement and manage Building Management System (BMS) or automated monitoring tools for temperature tracking.Respond promptly to alarms or temperature deviations and coordinate corrective actions.Compliance and Quality Assurance :
Ensure all systems comply with hospital policies, ASHRAE standards, CDC guidelines, and other regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, WHO, ISO).Collaborate with biomedical and pharmacy teams to maintain proper storage conditions for vaccines, medicines, and samples.Support accreditation and inspection processes by providing records and documentation.Administrative and Supervisory :
Supervise technical staff, contractors, and vendors performing maintenance or installation work.Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for cold storage management.Manage budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement of equipment.Train hospital personnel on cold storage handling, alarm response, and reporting procedures.Qualifications and Experience :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, Refrigeration Engineering, or related field.Experience :
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in refrigeration and HVAC systems, preferably in a hospital or laboratory environment.Proven experience managing temperature-controlled environments or cold chain systems.Familiarity with hospital engineering standards and compliance regulations.Certifications (Preferred) :
HVAC / R Technician License or EPA CertificationGMP or Quality Management CertificationOSHA or Safety Training Certification
