About The Position

Job Title : CT Technologist

Shift : Shift 1 : 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 00 PM Wednesday to Sunday

Shift 2 : 12 : 00 PM - 8 : 00 PM Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday

Hours per Shift : 37.50 hours per week

Experience : Minimum of 1 year of CT experience

License : Client License (L.R.T)

Certifications : ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, BLS certification

Must-Have :

• ARRT certification in MR
• NYS DOH Radiography certification with injection privileges

Description :

Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.

Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it is calibrated and functioning properly before any patient study is performed.

Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician's order following the prescribed protocol.

Observes all department documentation policies by completing all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.

Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests.

Follows radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.

Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.

Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.

Receives radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure.

Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration.

Performs CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.

Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
