Suspended Material Area (SMA) Position

Raytheon is looking to fill our Suspended Material Area (SMA) position located in McKinney, TX. As a SMA, you will understand and apply material management principles that enable you to provide integrated customer support, by developing solutions to ensure nonconforming material is controlled. You will work in a teaming environment with core hours to accommodate customer needs while allowing some flexibility to support work / life balance practices.

What You Will Do :

  • Plan, coordinate material dispositions with Quality and MVE (Material Validation Engineers)
  • Facilitate Program meetings to discuss Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs) with test participants.
  • Review test objectives and success criteria.
  • Participate in audits, and provide corrective actions from investigations of receiving inspection escapes to identify root causes to prevent future occurrences
  • You may be required to lift minimum 28 pounds
  • PIT training required which is administered by EHS Safety
  • Occasionally you will be required to operate a pallet jack in a warehouse setting
  • This is a First Shift position - Monday-Friday (9 / 80 Schedule may be an option) Required Hours are 7 : 00am -3 : 30pm

What You Will Learn

  • How to handle and manage nonconforming material
  • Effective Communications with many levels of program, Quality, Inspection and other contractor and government stakeholders and works to positively guide parties within and outside of the job function at an operational level regarding policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Read and understand engineering drawings
  • Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational / technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Outlook, Power Point, Excel) and 6S principles
  • Experience with customer service, project and / or program management.
  • Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of cross site and enterprise level planning and implementation practices.
  • System practices regarding scanning, part verification and validation.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with SAP / PRISM application system
  • Experience with (QN) handling Hardware / Documentation Quality Notifications
