Position Title : Python / AI Programming Expert

Location : Remote

Position Status : Contract

Position Description :

We are seeking three highly experienced Python / AI Programming Experts to support a strategic digital transformation initiative within a large federal agency. These roles will be part of an innovative IT Architecture & Strategy team driving the implementation of advanced data solutions, automation, and AI capabilities in alignment with enterprise goals and modernization efforts.

As a senior contributor, you will leverage your extensive background in Python programming, cloud deployment, data engineering, and AI / ML solutioning to develop scalable and secure systems that support mission-critical operations. You will play a hands-on role in delivering automation, data analysis, and AI-driven proof-of-concepts, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, build, and deploy Python applications and automation scripts to support IT operations and data workflows.
  • Develop and optimize data pipelines, including acquisition, cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering.
  • Deploy Python applications in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP , using tools like Docker and Kubernetes .
  • Build and integrate AI / ML solutions into enterprise systems, leveraging cloud-native AI / ML services.
  • Follow best practices in software engineering : version control (Git), testing, CI / CD pipelines, secure coding, and documentation.
  • Contribute to architectural design sessions, including creating diagrams (Visio, Draw.io) and technical documentation (Word, PowerPoint).
  • Utilize SQL and NoSQL databases for data querying, transformation, and storage.
  • Create data visualizations and reports using Excel , Power BI , or similar tools.
  • Conduct research and present findings on emerging tools, packages, and trends in data science and AI.
  • Collaborate on MCP server setup and integration into Agentic AI workflows (desirable but not required).
  • Ensure ethical AI practices, including addressing model bias, data privacy, and secure implementation.

Required Skills & Experience :

  • 20+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on Python development and enterprise systems.
  • Proven ability to apply core Python skills to real-world IT and data challenges.
  • Strong background in data engineering, data science, and AI / ML solution development .
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization tools.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices , secure coding, and ethical AI usage.
  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise IT ecosystems .
  • Familiarity with API development , system integration, and agent-based workflows.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfortable preparing and delivering briefings, reports, and technical presentations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Power BI, Visio / Draw.io.
  • Experience in generative AI and prompt engineering is a plus.
  • MCP server and Agentic AI integration experience is highly desirable.
  • Education :

    Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
