This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist II to join our team.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and complicated laboratory procedures, including specimen processing, testing, and reporting of results.
- They will also operate and maintain instruments and equipment, develop new procedures, perform phlebotomy, and other patient-oriented tasks.
Key Responsibilities :
Perform all routine and complicated laboratory procedures in the primary section to which assignedOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipmentCross-train to other laboratory sections as neededCalculate, enter, and / or verify results of laboratory proceduresProvide notification and documentation of critical laboratory values obtainedProcess patient specimens, including collection, handling, and distributionParticipate in the evaluation, development, and implementation of new or updated testing procedures and protocolsDemonstrate competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets population-specific and developmental needs of patients served by the departmentRequirements :
Bachelor's Degree or higher in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experienceNo experience required for graduates of a clinical laboratory training program approved or accredited by NAACLS or other organizations approved by HHSOne year of approved clinical laboratory experience, including a clinical rotation through various laboratory sectionsMust possess Certification for MT, MLS, CLS, or MLT from ASCP, AMT, AAB, or HEW / HHSLouisiana requires State Licensure New Graduate that is Board Certified or eligible
