Job Description
Use your strengths at Wellmark as a Team Leader of Pharmacy Business Support!
About the Opportunity :
As Team Leader of Pharmacy Business Support, you will lead and develop a growing team of Compliance and Quality Analysts dedicated to ensuring rigorous oversight of our pharmacy operations. In this high-impact role, you will provide leadership and guidance to teams focused on compliance, quality assurance, and monitoring within the pharmacy space—including the configuration, administration, and oversight of pharmacy processes—to ensure adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
Your primary accountability will be to build and execute a proactive quality and compliance infrastructure, supporting both internal performance monitoring and external oversight of our pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) partner’s work. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across the pharmacy department to identify gaps, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in compliance practices. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence and supporting strategic business priorities as our team and responsibilities continue to grow.
About You :
With your strong communication skills and ability to effectively build professional partnerships across an organization and externally, you are energized by the idea of building a program from the ground-up to support strategic business goals. You are naturally curious and think critically to ask the right questions to identify gaps, risk, and trends. The work won’t be easy, but you are excited about the opportunity to join a growing, highly visible area of the business focused on the total cost of care in health care.
As an experienced leader of others, you will directly impact the success, growth, and development of team members by setting clear expectations, defining accountabilities, providing regular coaching, facilitating change, and providing an overall positive work environment. Being a role model in behaviors that demonstrate Wellmark’s Leader Success Expectations is a must. You are a strong change leader who demonstrates both flexibility and resiliency. You are at your best when you can strategically think both up and downstream, use data to inform decisions, and creatively solve problems – plus, you love to inspire and coach others to do the same. Prior formal leadership experience preferred.
This position will work a hybrid schedule of at least 3 days in Wellmark's Des Moines, Iowa office, with 2 days remote option. As a leader, there may be additional days in the office to meet business needs.
