In the role of Substation Senior Designer, we'll count on you to :

• Provide oversight over workload, quality, utilization, team morale, and training for a substation team(s).
• Perform substation design activities as needed.
• May function as an Assistant Project Manager of substation projects of all sizes and complexity, including scope and / or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, and quality control, schedule, and budget management.
• Understand basic project management tools and techniques including client goals and objectives, contract types and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope, schedule, and budget, financial management and controls, including earned value, and project closeout.
• Coordinate with company recruiting staff and leadership to help grow the group based on client and worksharing needs.
• Establish a network of relationships with technical peers in other offices and leverage those relationships and resources in worksharing opportunities.
• Understand and implement the HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures.
• Work independently and may direct, mentor, train, and / or supervise one or more substation Project Engineers and / or junior design staff.
• Perform other duties as needed
