Full Time Assistant Store Manager (Store 2930)
Base pay range : $10.75 / hr - $14.75 / hr

Responsibilities
- Provide best-in-class guest service : greet guests, respond to questions and concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests of promotions, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during every transaction, and thank guests for shopping at GameStop. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
- Support the store environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.
- Process guest purchases / returns accurately using the POS system, including handling changes, bagging merchandise, and providing receipts.
- Respond to guest questions in person or on the phone; escalate issues to the Store Manager as needed.
- Promote GameStop guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program, trade-in program, and Pro Rewards loyalty program.
- Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.
- Observe associate performance and provide feedback; address unsatisfactory performance as directed to align with guest service expectations.
- Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document feedback in the HR system in partnership with the Store Manager.
- Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed before shifts; associates should know all job aspects, including policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, and ethics.
- Assist with scheduling and supervision of associates to maintain optimal guest service levels; ensure breaks and meals are logged as required.
- Approve payroll, manage paid time off, and verify time worked.
- Keep store areas clean, organized, and merchandised per guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in working order.
- Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.
- Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
- Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete administrative duties.
- Conduct store inventory counts and restock merchandise to ensure representation and organization on the sales floor.
- Balance and reconcile daily transactions; complete closeout paperwork and ensure sufficient cash and deposits per guidelines.
- Verify shipments, record discrepancies, and conduct inventories; communicate discrepancies to management.
- Process defectives / recalls and stock pulls; label boxes and include packing lists.
- Maintain safety awareness and address hazards; report injuries per guidelines.
- Maintain store records and assist with up-to-date manuals.
- Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.
- Adhere to opening and closing procedures.
Qualifications
Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States.Must be at least 18 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.Six months of retail management experience preferred.Two years of retail sales, guest service, and / or management experience preferred.Video game knowledge preferred.Key Skills
Outgoing, welcoming personality with strong people skills.Provide genuine and individualized assistance to every guest.Clear verbal and written communication; English fluency; bilingual English / Spanish preferred.Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and work independently or as part of a team.Meet performance expectations in attendance, appearance, safety, and respect in the workplace.Operate the POS system; perform basic math and alphabetizing.Complete required paperwork and follow written or verbal instructions.Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays (minimum 3 days / week).Work under pressure, problem-solve, and remain reliable and trustworthy.Able to stand and move for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.On military-base locations, onboarding may require knowledge of military ranks and insignia.Job descriptions may change based on business needs.
