Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist with active ASHA certification and at least 2 years of experience to provide therapy services in a rural Arizona location.
Responsibilities
Work in an inpatient and outpatient setting serving a predominantly Native American populationTreats patients of all ages, from birth through geriatricProvides assessment and treatment for speech, language, swallowing, cognitive, and voice disordersSpecialty services include swallowing evaluations, Videofluoroscopy (VFSS / MBS), Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES), pediatric feeding evaluation, and assistive technology / adaptive equipment evaluationsMonday through Friday schedule, 8am to 5pmElectronic health record system used for documentationResponsible for developing, implementing, and adjusting treatment plans based on patient progressProvide patient, family, and staff education on therapy goals and proceduresParticipate in specialty clinics including geriatric and assistive technology clinicsCollaborate with an interdisciplinary rehabilitation team including physicians, nurses, and social workersMay be required to provide training and in-services for students and staffOrientation provided every two weeksCOVID-19 and flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted with completion of a declination formHousing may be available but is not guaranteed; application must be submitted two weeks before start dateWork environment is very ruralMust maintain medical staff credentialing core privileges during the assignmentRequirements
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited programCurrent Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC) from ASHAValid and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license from Arizona or any US jurisdiction (license required if applicable)At least 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language PathologistCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart AssociationMust meet requirements for medical staff credentialingFingerprinting must be completed prior to startBenefits
