AR Insurance Account Manager I

The AR Insurance Account Manager I sells and services new and existing accounts. This position performs sales and service functions for targeted market programs and the sale of additional coverages as assigned by performing the duties listed below.

Essential duties and responsibilities include :

• Initiating and follow-up with customers and carriers to sell or resolve problems, answer questions, correspondence and reports.
• Preparing, processing, reviewing and monitoring various documents such as premiums, coverage of risk, policies, renewals, claims, applications, changes, endorsements, binders, contracts, etc.
• Contacting current and prospective customers to sell and explain coverage gaps, and solicitation of new business within market area.
• Preparing and presenting proposals, quotes and recommending coverages based on customer needs and sales of appropriate coverages.
• Assisting customer and arranging payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
• Preparing and calculating premiums, invoicing, commissions and other accounting related functions.
• Creating and maintaining computer files and suspense for follow-up action.
• Attending sales seminars, sales meetings.
• Participating in company community events and civic meetings.
• Completing required BSA / AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Education and experience : Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 12 to 18 months related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication skills : Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical skills : Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Critical thinking skills : Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

Required certificates, licenses, registrations : Ability to obtain an Arkansas Insurance License.

Preferred certificates, licenses, registrations : Preferably already has an Arkansas Insurance License.

Software skills required : Advanced : Word Processing / Typing; Intermediate : Contact Management, Database; Basic : Accounting.

Working conditions : Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking; and occasional pushing, carrying, or lifting.
