JOB SUMMARY

The Fire Sprinkler Service Technician is responsible for performing service, maintenance, and repairs on commercial, industrial, and residential sprinkler and suppression systems. The technician provides excellent customer service while diagnosing and resolving equipment and system malfunctions, ensuring compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Receive service calls and troubleshoot equipment / system malfunctions.
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain problems and provide updates.
  • Perform service and repairs on wet (steel, copper, CPVC), dry, pre-action, deluge systems, and fire pumps.
  • Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures using technical manuals, blueprints, schematics, and operational manuals.
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to service calls.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service with strong organizational skills and a positive attitude.
  • Adhere to and implement all company and customer safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Work independently and participate in on-call program as required.
  • Perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment / tools up to 70 lbs and working in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolding, crawl spaces, ceilings, high lifts up to 60 feet).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years of documented experience in the Fire Sprinkler industry performing service and repairs.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • NICET III Inspection and Testing Water-Based Systems, OR
  • NFPA Water-Based Inspection, Testing and Maintenance, OR
  • ASSE I50I0 Water-Based Protection Systems, OR
  • Completion of a DOL-approved Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship Program.

  • Backflow certification.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn.
