Mission :The Lead Underground Utility Locator is responsible for ensuring the homeowner / contractor may safely dig without damaging the customer's underground utility infrastructure.Essential Goals, Functions and ResponsibilitiesAbility to read and interpret utility maps to identify size and type of underground utilitiesAccurately mark the location of underground utilitiesWork after hours on call when scheduledPerform work in all weather conditionsReceive and respond to locate tickets during normal and after hours in accordance with time requirements via computer and cell phone. Assist team of utility locators in these goals as well, including moving tickets and helping to route locator's daily workload.Troubleshoot and assist with any abnormal operating conditions faced by team of locators.Ensure team of utility locators have been provided with all tools and supplies required to perform tasks effectively.Operate different electronic detection equipment, to locate and mark underground utilities within set accuracy limitsUse a shovel to expose buried utilities when necessaryTake pictures and document all information required for each locate ticketPromote continued improvement through locator mentoring and completion of field audits for all members of their teamAssist in investigations in which underground facility may have been compromised or damaged.Safely operate company vehicleMaintain a professional appearance and abide by company dress codeMaintain a positive working relationship with all parties involved, including but not limited to customers, homeowners and contractorsEnsure proper maintenance of all equipment usedPay :$23+ based on experienceQualifications :A minimum of 1 year of experience in underground utility locating is required.High school diploma or equivalentValid drivers license, including an MVR record that is acceptable by the company.Must be able to pass a background check, a pre-employment drug screen and random drug screensA proven record of high quality, accurate locating with a superlative damage ratio.Must be able to communicate and effectively lead a crew of employees to complete their duties in a timely and accurate mannerHave and understanding of state specific one-call dig lawsBasic computer knowledge and the ability to use GPS / mapping systems is preferred but not requiredPhysical Requirements :Able to lift up to 50 poundsAble to walk up to 5 miles a day in different weather conditionsAble to use all required personal protective equipment.Reasons why Underground Utility Locators enjoy working for On The Spot Utility Resources!Locators are free to operate Independently and work outdoorsCompany paid work truck, with gas and maintenance paid for On the SpotAll equipment needed is provided at no cost to the employeeTraining is 100% paidYou receive Paid Time Off, and 401k match after employed 90 daysHealth Insurance is available within 1 month of start date at a reasonable rate.
