Wieland is hiring a Quality Manager . The Quality Manager will manage, develop, maintain, and improve quality assurance programs and systems in line with international standards and customer requirements. This person will ensure that products and quality objectives are met to support Morgan Bronze Business goals and achieve superior quality and reliability. The role plans, coordinates, and directs the quality and improvement program to ensure quality assurance of production in line with established standards.

This is a people-leader role with 5-6 direct reports. This role is located in Lake Zurich, IL and will be fully on-site.

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Overview

Wieland is hiring a Quality Manager . The Quality Manager will be responsible for managing, developing, maintaining, and improving quality assurance programs and systems in line with international standards and customer requirements. This role supports quality objectives and aims for superior quality and reliability. The Quality Manager plans, coordinates, and directs the quality and improvement program to ensure quality assurance of the production of the product consistent with established standards.

This is a people-leader role, with 5-6 direct reports. This role is located in Lake Zurich, IL , on-site.

Base Salary : $102,000 - $153,000

May be eligible for a variable compensation plan bonus based upon company performance within fiscal year cycle.

Responsibilities

Quality Manager Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a quality production program to ensure conformity of purchased material, final products, and services to quality standards.
• Customer liaison for quality and customer satisfaction-related issues.
• Manage quality personnel and activities defined in job descriptions.
• Provide oversight of the Corrective Action process, addressing product non-conformances and safety.
• Provide basic human resources services where applicable : training, interviewing, approving vacations, performance appraisals, discipline sessions, and personnel development.
• Design and implement quality training programs for key personnel with managers.
• Participate on quality management teams within the organization.
• Maintain knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
• Oversee manufacturing process documentation (Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Maps) to ensure requirements are met.
• Recommend equipment purchases and ensure calibration and suitability for use within the department budget.
• Visit vendor facilities and meet with customers and quality representatives to resolve quality problems.
• Lead Continuous Improvement Program and promote a culture of safety, improvement, and quality.
• Prepare for and represent the company during customer reviews, audits, and assessments.
• Contract review to verify customer needs and requirements can be met.
• Summarize quality information and evaluate trends via Pareto analysis.
• Establish statistical confidence programs for sampling and process control.
• Oversee gauge calibration program and training of calibration.
• Chair the new product implementation process and cross-functional reviews for new products.
• Communicate with process owners to resolve nonconforming conditions and facilitate corrective / preventive actions.
• Promote change and continuous improvement using Six Sigma and Lean.
• Responsible for Aerospace Self-Release Designations and completion of FAIRs / PPAPs.
• Support and contribute to lean manufacturing principles.
