Compensation Estimated Weekly Pay : $1800–$1850 Texas Nursing Job Details Location : Amarillo, TX 79106 (West Texas healthcare jobs) Assignment Length : 13-week contract (August 25, 2025 – November 24, 2025) Shift : 12-hour night shifts (19 : 00 – 07 : 30), 3 shifts / week Hours per Week : 36 Unit : Labor & Delivery (12-bed unit) Charting System : Epic EMR (Epic experience required) Patient Ratio : 1 : 6 Orientation : 20 hours onsite Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Texas or compact state Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience Certifications : AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRP Epic EMR experience required Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (50-mile radius rule) Ability to complete onsite orientation and online modules (4-6 hours) L&D RN Responsibilities Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections in a busy Labor & Delivery unit Perform triage of obstetrical patients and conduct sterile vaginal exams Start and maintain peripheral IVs; manage insulin drips and central lines (CVC / PICC) Recover post C-section patients and provide newborn care Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols Utilize external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) for patient safety Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Epic EMR Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Experience Amarillo’s welcoming community, local dining, and proximity to Palo Duro Canyon State Park during your Texas nursing assignment.
