Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Radiology Interventional Technologist with a minimum of 3 years’ interventional radiology and Level 1 trauma facility experience, current BLS, and ARRT credentials.
Responsibilities
Position is based in an Interventional Radiology department specializing in invasive diagnostic proceduresWork in a Level 1 Trauma setting with a focus on cardiac and vascular interventionsCandidates will function as an IR Tech, not in general X-rayTypical schedule is five 8-hour day shifts from 8 : 00am to 4 : 30pm; occasional four 10-hour shift weeks may be availableCall coverage required, typically one weekend every three months and one weekday night per call rotation, dependent on staffingCandidates may be required to float to a nearby sister hospitalPACS and RIS systems are used for imaging and documentationNo blocked scheduling is permittedResponsibilities include patient preparation, contrast and medication administration, assisting in complex invasive procedures, and ensuring all required equipment and supplies are availableRole includes operating, setting up, and independently troubleshooting imaging and physiological monitoring equipmentPACS and RIS proficiency required for image processing and study documentationQuality assurance procedures and radiation safety practices must be followed at all timesMay assist with onboarding and instruction of new personnel or students assigned to the departmentCompletion of pre-employment online modules with a passing score is required prior to assignment startHoliday coverage may be required based on department needsRTO must be discussed prior to assignment; post-offer RTO requests are subject to management approvalScrub or dress code details will be provided by the departmentRequirements
Active Michigan license required for considerationCurrent BLS certification from AHA requiredRegistered with ARRT and advanced registry in Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (CI), Vascular-Interventional Radiography (VI), or Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiography (CV) requiredMinimum 3 years of specific Interventional Radiology experience and prior experience in a Trauma Level 1 facilityHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMust maintain required continued medical education hoursAdditional ARRT specialization certifications are highly preferredCOVID vaccination is mandatory for employmentLicense required if applicableBenefits
