As a Security Professional - Education Site in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, Shelter, and more. As a Part-Time Security Officer, you'll use our exclusive Claim a Shift platform to view and Pick up open shifts based on your availability-giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you, while gaining valuable site experience across various industries. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol assigned locations within educational and shelter environments. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you conduct routine patrols and remain highly visible. You will interact with staff, students, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and clear communication. Pay Rate : $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule : DayTimeWed08 : 00 AM - 02 : 00 PMSat10 : 00 AM - 06 : 00 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support the needs of the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and maintain a visible presence.
  • Monitor entrances, exits, and common areas to help to deter unauthorized access and / or disruptive behavior within the location.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, observations, and activities according to Allied Universal procedures.
  • Collaborate with staff and visitors to address questions and provide assistance as needed.
  • Support site-specific protocols for education and shelter environments, adapting to the unique needs of each location.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid security guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
