Overview

Varsity Tutors, a Nerdy Company, is seeking a Baton Rouge College Level American Literature Tutor to join our Live Learning Platform. As a tutor, you’ll set your own schedule, earn competitive rates, and make a meaningful impact on students’ learning journeys from home.

Responsibilities

  • Base contract rates start at $18 / hour and increase for specialized subjects; pay can rise to up to $40 / hour with the same student over time.
  • Get paid up to twice per week for tutoring sessions you conduct and invoice.
  • Set your own hours and tutor as much as you’d like.
  • Tutor remotely using our Live Learning Platform—no commuting required.
  • Be matched with students best-suited to your teaching style and expertise.
  • Utilize the AI-powered Tutor Copilot to enhance sessions with real-time instructional support, lesson generation, and engagement features.
  • We handle the logistics—you invoice for tutoring sessions and we process payments.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
  • Expertise in College Level American Literature with the ability to explain concepts clearly.
  • Ability to personalize lessons and adapt to different learning styles.
  • Priority given to those with tutoring or teaching experience and graduate-level education.
