Director of Clinical Operations (ABA) – BCBA / LBA
Location : Detroit, MI (Territory-based, onsite leadership with occasional travel)
About the Role
We’re seeking a Director-level clinical leader to directly manage operational and clinical activities across an assigned facility or territory. You’ll lead and develop a multidisciplinary ABA team, ensure high-quality, compliant care, maintain clinical coverage, and drive outcomes through data, collaboration, and strong people leadership. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on clinical excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Lead day-to-day clinical and operational oversight for your site / territory.
- Supervise, develop, and train clinical staff : Assistant Clinical Director, Supervising BCBAs, BCBAs, BCaBAs, Behavior Consultants, and Behavior Technicians.
- Oversee all case management activities, including client supervision, staff support, and parent training.
- Navigate and resolve complex situations (parent concerns, client issues, staff conflicts) in partnership with administrative teams.
- Maintain clinical requirements for client supervision and billable hours per payer and organizational policies.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments; design, implement, and maintain top-quality treatment programs aligned with organizational philosophy.
- Coordinate with Administrative staff to uphold best business practices and operational standards.
- Assign and monitor completion of initial assessments (ACD, Supervising BCBAs, BCBAs, BCaBAs, Behavior Consultants).
- Plan and adjust clinical coverage for PTO, call-outs, and weekly operational needs; collaborate cross-functionally to ensure a safe, productive workplace.
- Partner closely with the Regional Clinical Director to meet all territory needs.
- Monitor client progress through treatment plan reviews, utilization tracking, supervision logs, and parent training completion.
- Safeguard client privacy in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Prepare and deliver staff performance evaluations in collaboration with HR and the Regional Clinical Director.
- Independently plan caseloads and assign cases across the clinical team, escalating to the Regional Clinical Director as needed.
- Maintain a flexible schedule to support evolving clinical and operational priorities.

What You Bring
Active BCBA certification and LBA licensures.Master’s degree required.3+ years of ABA experience or experience working with children with developmental disabilities.Strong leadership with excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Analytical decision-making and sound judgment.Proven ability to delegate, supervise, and coach clinical teams.Effective at resolving administrative issues and conflicts.Working knowledge of budgeting, resource planning, and evaluation methods.Open, flexible availability; willingness to travel occasionally.Requirements
