Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAbout GKN Automotive
We power the world's vehicles with advanced driveline technologies—conventional, all-wheel, and electrified. Our global teams design, build, and integrate systems used by most of the world's automakers. Innovation, collaboration, and execution are at the heart of how we shape the future of mobility.
Day in the Life
Picture your morning starting with a quick scan of process capability metrics, then heading to the line to verify a recent machining change. By mid-day, you're updating a PFMEA and control plan with cross-functional partners, validating an inspection method, and confirming that containment for a nonconforming part is airtight. Your afternoon might include a layered audit to verify IATF 16949 controls, followed by a concise report-out on quality trends and a coaching session to embed lessons learned into daily work. Tomorrow, you'll partner with another plant—travel is limited, but impactful.
Role Purpose
As a Manufacturing Quality Engineer, you will protect product integrity and process consistency from concept through shipment. You will implement and sustain the Quality Management System, ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, and drive first-time-right outcomes through rigorous prevention, verification, and continuous improvement.
What You'll Do
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to respond to urgent plant needs is expected approximately 1–2 times per month and may not always require on-site presence.
