Position Overview
Davey Resource Group is currently looking to add a dynamic Civil Engineer / Transportation & Roadway Designer to our passionate team of Transportation Engineering professionals. Responsibilities will include the design of roadway engineering projects involving geometric, hydraulic, pavement, intersection, lighting, and traffic design.

- Assist in preliminary engineering with conceptual and preliminary design.
- Assist in the planning and design of roadway engineering projects involving geometric, hydraulic, pavement, intersection, lighting, and traffic design. Strong understanding of ODOT and local regulations.
- Preparation of design calculations per local, state, and federal regulations.
- Preparation of Maintenance of Traffic and Traffic Control plans and specifications.
- Preparation of contract documents including project specifications and quantity / cost estimates.
- Assist in managing projects through local, county, state, and federal permitting and compliance with other regulatory requirements.

Problem Solving / Analysis.Ability to make independent decisions based on sound engineering judgment and experience.Ability to apply knowledge to a variety of assignments.Technical Capacity.Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.Experienced / Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer is a plus.Experience with stormwater regulations and practicesNon-complex roadway design experience. Complex roadway design is a plus.Communication Proficiency.Ability to guide junior-level staff on objectives, critical issues, and concepts.Ability to interact with internal staff, reviewing agencies and customers as needed on project-related issues.Collaboration Skills.Will consult with superiors on unique, unusual problems and developmentsAs experience expands, the role may collaborate on new or improved techniques and procedures on complex projects and assignments.Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.Minimum 3 years of roadway design experienceUnderstanding and implementation experience of ODOT and / or local standardsAutoCAD Civil 3D experience requiredMicroStation and OpenRoads Design experience preferredEngineer in Training (EIT) Certification, is required. (PE) Certification is preferred.What We Offer
